Meet the CEO

Nakisha Mitchell, GM

Let me tell you about myself and what brought me to this field, I had a family member that suffered from drug and alcohol abuse, my mom and I was his support system.  During this process is when I saw my uncle at his most vulnerable, and honest point in his life. I was able to really meet the true him because while he was in his addiction the person I saw was not the true him, as drug and alcohol abuse tends to bring out the worst in an individual.  We seen him through his recovery and got him as healthy as possible, however,  severe damage to his liver over the years could not be reversed and he passed away from that in 2014.  Seeing my uncle in that state made me realize that I had a passion to help other people, and after he passed away I had a strong desire to assist people with addictions.

In 2015 I  attended CCAPP Academy, graduated and entered into the workforce as an intern drug and alcohol counselor.

Then I decided that I wanted to achieve higher education so I enrolled at Cypress College  and graduated with my Associate of Arts in Human Services, and Associate of Science in Behavioral Science.  During this time at Cypress College  I had transitioned from interning to full time employment. I’m currently attending California State University of Dominguez Hills where I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Human Services with a concentration of Mental Health Recovery working towards my masters  in Social Work.  My ultimate goal after I complete  my masters program is to obtain my  license so that I can be a LCSW. I’m a paraprofessional, credentialed with my CDAC 2, with six years of experience in the workforce of AOD treatment.  I have many life experiences which gives me a unique perspective in this field.  I’m no stranger to trauma, death, addiction, and mental health in which I found  professional help for and found healing.  I am empathetic, and I can relate to my clients in many ways, so come join me and let me assist you with living a healthier lifestyle, at Impacted Healing Inc.
